Jen Filipiak - Women Cat 4

I joined the team in 2007, shortly after I relocated to Des Moines from Chicago. I raced triathlons for about 4 years prior to bike racing - after completing my first (and last) half ironman in 115 degree heat index (Racine, WI 2005) I decided that I prefer shorter distances. My favorite race is now the fast and furious criterium, something I never thought I would do!

Off the bike, I do conservation planning and coordinate research for The Nature Conservancy's Iowa chapter - my background is wildlife biology. I love all things outdoors, especially backpacking in remote beautiful places, and traveling. I live in Des Moines with my amazing fiance (Pete), charismatic dog (Iggy Pupp), and Stormin' Norman, the 19-year old super-chinchilla.
