DMOS/RDMB Riders are Training in the VeloSalon (or VeloSauna)

The DMOS/RDMB Race Team has a new 2010 training home in a space once used as a hair styling salon. Team members have begun calling it the "VeloSalon," or "VeloSauna" when the temperature warms up after the riders begin training. The training center can accommodate about 50 riders, but the quarters are tight and riders often set-up nearly elbow-to-elbow, just like in a race! A benefit of the space is that the stalls once used by the stylists are perfect for two sets of rollers, each rider has their own wall for support. Training for DMOS/RDMB team members is on Tuesday night, and on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. the training center is open to the public and members of other teams. The center will also be open on many weekends, again most of these sessions will be open to the public.

The training sessions are race-oriented, meaning often it is less like a spin class and more like a structured workout with intervals and recovery. The training center is wired for sound, so there are tunes going while the coaches work to get the most out of the riders.
